Wouldn't it be great if we could feel good about every purchase we made? Knowing that there wasn't much plastic packaging used, rainforests weren't cut down to make this, and a small amount of carbon emissions were sent out in the atmosphere to bring you this. Well, you can get that if you shop consciously and try to find eco-friendly products and companies. Unfortunately, it is tough to do this with everything that you buy, and for some products, it's downright impossible. The good news is that some companies are working on making this easier. So I wanted to give a quick shout out to the companies that are trying to go green.

The Climate Pledge

This pledge means that committed businesses are trying to have net-zero carbon submissions by 2040. The pledge has three main components:

1 They must consistently report their greenhouse gas emission

2 They must implement decarbonization strategies

3 They offset any carbon emissions that they still produce with a socially beneficial offset.

Some of the big-name companies who have joined are:

Microsoft, Coco-Cola, Amazon, Uber, Jet Blue, Best Buy, Mercedes Bends, Verizon

these companies along with many others have made this pledge and hopefully, they will be able to stick to it. Check out the whole list at:

Others who have made their own pledges

-Aldi- being ahead of the game they pledged back in 2012 to reduce their carbon footprint by 30% and they are still trying to reduce it. They have been installing thousands of solar panels, increasing their recycling, and cutting down on food waste. By 2025 they want 100 % of Aldi-exclusive products to be in reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging. On top of that, they have animal welfare and ethical working conditions policies. -Google- has created the worlds most efficient data centers, they also have started campaigning for green energy

-Tesco- did you know Tesco stores are all powered by wind power? Well, now you do. They offer incentives to customers who bring their bags back and they have up their recycling game.

And there is plenty more, check out more companies and what they are doing at:

or do your own research. Support companies that are making green efforts and tell other companies that you'd like to see the same from them. Also, shout out to all the small businesses that are environmentally-friendly. It is hard enough to compete against large businesses, even harder when you're environmentally conscious. So if you find a small business like that near you, show them your support. Having a couple of companies go green certainly won't fix the problem but it is a start.
